Let me say a few words in the context of the activities that are taking place in the framework of the Alphabet Days, where the topic is the Arberesh cause for the Albanian language and Albanology.
Our visit to Manastir is not a formality, but it is an essence for the fact that we, the bearers of institutions, go back in time to remember our ancestors who laid the foundations of the Albanian language.
If the Arberesh revived this language from oblivion, the participants of the Alphabet Congress in 1908 put it on the rails of unified writing, thus choosing a common alphabet that we have today.
In this sense, today we are even more obliged to be grateful for this determination and their contribution, but also responsible and attentive to the Albanian language, preserving, cultivating and affirming it in all scientific, cultural, academic, educational, social and political stances.
Being in charge of the Language Implementation Agency, I have the burden to do my best in terms of practical implementation of the Albanian language in state institutions, not only as a legal obligation, but even more so as a national obligation.
Since we are in this temple of the Albanian language, such as the House of the Alphabet, I would like to take this opportunity to appeal to protect and cultivate the Albanian language, to speak it with feeling and heart, to write it with the letters that came out of this house, because we have no more precious heritage than this.
I wish this holiday to be a testament and reflection, metaphysics and national pride!
